![]() ![]() This is great tima toy for kids especially if you want them to have fun my two boys had fun playing with the tonka mighty mixer when i first got it for my kids i thought it was a simple truck with lights and sounds but then when my kids opened it they got so excited because it had slime my two boys had so much fun putting the slime in the truck with some pebble rocks you mix them together and it looks like a slimy trash u roll the handle that it has on the side and it starts dumping the slime onto a box. Overall, great toy unique and lots of fun. The slime is a little bit runnier than my son would like, so he stores it in a tub in the fridge until he's ready to play with it, for a better consistency. It sounds a little strange, but my boy thought it was amazing and that's all that matters to me. It comes with a bag of slime and 'trash' to mix in. My 10 year old son is having a ball playing with this! It makes lots of cool sounds and has fun lights too. While i do love it i cant use the slime and rocks as there to small and easy swallable also dont like how the back piece comes off it makes harder to keep attached and easier for the kids to break other then that it is a fun car for kids The quality is great and the colors are good. It also has lights like the real garbage truck and makes sounds. ![]() It came with stuff to put inside the garbage truck. I've used this product for over a few weeks now and it's a fun toy to play with. This is a great toy any kid would love I would recommend as a gift for any kid It’s so cool it comes with a mix to create your own garbage waste. The tonka is made with good material, not heavy nor lightweight is just perfect. This toy can be used for older kids like 5+ because it comes with alot of small objects. This mega machine tonka mighty mixer comes with a trash can, black seeds similar to a watermelon seeds, and green gooey stuff that is for trash pretending that goes inside the toy. It seemed much too messy for an indoor toy. I am NOT a cool mom so I did not let him play with the slime so I can’t say much about that. We may have our hands full with car projects, but this video makes us hope we find a classic Tonka truck in a barn somewhere. My three year old thinks this toy is pretty great! He loves the lights and sounds. It was a lot of work, but this truck cleaned up nice! Of course, the final step in the restoration was a fresh pair of bright red "Tonka" decals. Besides that, all of the parts are original. The windows are new, and new axles were cut and polished. Image Via Rescue & Restore/YouTubeĪs the truck is carefully re-assembled with rivets, we're impressed by how few parts required replacement. One of our favorite details is the white-letter tires – you'll have to watch the video to pick up on his technique. He also cleans up the plastic parts, and he even polished the tires back to a nice shine. ![]() Finally, it's time for the bright yellow color coat (black on the chassis). Next, he powdercoats the metal parts with primer, then sands it smooth. Watching the sandblaster strip away all of the old paint and rust is quite satisfying indeed. That's because these trucks are made out of steel, so many metalworking techniques carry over.Īfter disassembling the truck, he carefully repairs the bullet hole with a welder before taking all of the truck's metal parts into the sandblaster. ![]() What's entertaining about this toy restoration is how similar some parts of it feel to full-size auto restoration. In fact, the rust isn't even the biggest problem – there's a bullet hole in the dump bed! It's clear that this truck spent an awful lot of time outside. In the video, the host restores a rusty Tonka dump truck from 1980. While browsing YouTube, we stumbled upon this video from the Rescue & Restore channel. Remember those? They were big, yellow, and made out of good old fashioned steel. If you're anything like us, you grew up playing with Tonka trucks in the yard. Instead, this classic Tonka truck got a new lease on life. Most old toys get thrown away when they're used up. ![]()
